Cosmograph Daytona 6264 Paul Newman Yellow
The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 6264 “Paul Newman Yellow” is an exceptionally rare vintage chronograph from the late 1960s, part of the short-lived 6264 reference family that bridged pump-pusher Daytonas and the later Oyster models. It is most famously associated with the exotic “Paul Newman” dial configuration, here distinguished by its striking yellow accents, which add an even more distinctive visual identity within an already highly collectible series.
Powered by a manual-winding Valjoux 727 chronograph movement, the 6264 retains pump-style pushers rather than screw-down Oyster pushers, making it a transitional reference in Daytona history. Housed in a 37 mm stainless steel case with a tachymeter bezel, it combines classic proportions with racing chronograph functionality. The 6264 is especially important because it represents one of the final pump-pusher Daytonas before Rolex fully transitioned to screw-down Oyster pushers in later references.
Due to extremely low production numbers and the high desirability of exotic dial variants, the 6264 “Paul Newman Yellow” is regarded as one of the most sought-after vintage Rolex Daytonas.
